Understanding Trauma

Individuals who may like to support survivors they know.
How to use this resource
This resource contains information about what one's options are as a survivor, with an explanation of the various steps involved in taking action, and added information for survivors from marginalized contexts, such as the LGBTQ+ community. It explains the trauma and triggers one may encounter at each stage while taking action. It offers tools that one may use to navigate this. This resource offers rich illustrations to explain both the impact of trauma on one's thoughts and emotions, and the tools one may use to navigate trauma.
It can be overwhelming to take in so much information. We thus welcome folks to go through it at their own pace and in the order that works best for them. There is no right way to use this; it is designed purely to support a survivor's needs.
